Art Film: After Beardsley
Labels: art, artists, film 0 commentsAubrey Beardsley was born on August 21, 1872 in Brighton London. Following grammer school, he recieved his first big break when his first story entitled Story of a Confession Album appeared in publication Tlt Bits. After attending art school he wen't on to illustating such titles as Morte d'Arthur, and Salome. In 1894 he became the art editor of The Yellow Book, and in 1896, two years before his death several works were published including Under the Hill ,The Rape of the Lock,Lysistrata, and A Book of Fifty Drawings. Beardsley died on March 15, 1898. This three part film depicts the world through Beardsley's eyes--or atleast what they would have been if he was alive.
