who can keep track
of the
truth?
heading home it falls,
i want to be more like you.
without a name
too lost or
forgotten to be remembered.
no one knows anything you don't.
is the worst behind us?
drifting forward away
speeding towards forever in the past
in the rearview mirror
death looks me in the face.
once i know
you will too.
maybe i'll whisper it
maybe i won't.
at least watch.
i'll definitely watch.
nobody got hurt.
nobody i knew anyway.
everyone just laid there on the ground
waiting to get up
waiting for the end.
it never came
but here it is.

Some Advice: Wear Sunscreen

Here's a positive music video, Wear Sunscreen, narrated by Baz Luhrmann but originally written by Mary Schmich, of the Chicago Tribune, as a column in 1997 entitled, 'Advice, like youth, probably just wasted on the young'). This video was actually played quite frequently back in 1999. The now massive billion dollar Paramount/Viacom had no problems promoting positive thoughts back then .... a lot changes in ten years.
